Will my car be drivable without the ABS module?

I need to replace my ABS module. If i take it off is my vehicle safe to drive? I have a 2002 gmc yukon 2wd with traction assist. Thank you

If you have experienced a failure with the ABS module when your Yukon would be still safe to drive until you can get around to replacing the ABS module when you still would have brakes but the ABS won't be working.

Don't take it off. Just drive it the way it is and put a piece of black electrical tape over the light.
You'll waste too much money replacing all the brake lines and it won't make any difference then just leaving it alone.

:Safe" is a relative term. My '64 VW had no ABS, My '69 AMC had no ABS .. or my 74, 75. 76. 80, 85 or 89 vehicles .. === But ABS was developed to make vehicles safer. under normal conditions those were fine with no ABS, but they would have been MORE safe with ABS. --- It is a risk .. You need to be aware that in wet or other slick conditions or emergencies to slam on the brakes for a fast stop all would be safer with ABS.

I have a late 80's car with no abs or air bag
And have no problems with it. Safety is based
On your habits while driving. If you smoke, text,
Talk on the phone or indulge in other distractions it makes any car your drive unsafe. I don't
Do any of those things.

Yes. You will get a warning light on the dash which is normal.
