Why is my USPS package from Chicago arriving late? What caused the delay?

It was supposed to arrive today, but it got stuck at CHAMPAIGN IL DISTRIBUTION CENTER, US, but it says "ARRIVING LATE". Was there some natural disaster that caused the delay?
