A nice French roast is very light and sweet. You may then find you want a Mexican espresso for the ability to see through time and commune with your ancestors.

Instant latte that you can make at home, or lattes from the coffee shops, you could try stronger ones as you go.
'Mellow birds' is a light one to start with at home too [an instant coffee].

My first "coffee" was a French Vanilla. Kind of like a step up from hot chocolate. Give that a try :-)

You might enjoy a flavored coffee such as hazelnut or French vanilla.
