Instant latte that you can make at home, or lattes from the coffee shops, you could try stronger ones as you go.
'Mellow birds' is a light one to start with at home too [an instant coffee].

My first "coffee" was a French Vanilla. Kind of like a step up from hot chocolate. Give that a try :-)

I think what matters most is to have WEAK coffee. Pour a bit out of the cup and add some hot/boiled water to top up the cup. And add a tsp of sugar.
Over time gradually make your coffee stronger.

We have a Keurig Coffee Maker -- I like to try a lot of new coffees.
If you can find a store that has a Keurig Coffee Maker for customers you can try a lot of different coffees.
Ask if you have friends with a Keurig Coffee Maker, talk to visit,
