Why is it that even though I don't have asthma and my body does not become sore, I start wheezing when I run for only a mile?

I think I am physically capable of running long distance, but why is it that I start wheezing after only running 1/2-3/4 of a mile? It is not like I have asthma or that I start to become sore. Is there anyway I could stop this?

It could be you are simply running too hard. It's normal to breath hard when your effort exceeds your aerobic capacity. Sometimes, you might wheeze with hard breathing.

Try slowing down, and maintain a pace that would allow you to carry on a conversation without pausing to take a breath after every word.

Simple exhaustion. Heavy breathing and strain on the body causes that. Happens to me also, yet i dont have asthma. Pretty sure its normal
