Could the line be clogged? YES! Fuel filter clogged? The line is kinked, bad fuse, bad wire bad ground connection. There are many reason a new fuel pump may not work, I have seen one that a mechanic put on backward. ITDOES HAPPEN!

Had the same problem when I had my rusted gas tank and float/level sensor replaced. The new sensor unit was bad, and the gauge didn't work. Put in the old sensor unit, and it's been working fine.

Ground the wire for the fuel gauge at the pump harness connector. Th gauge should read full when you do that. If it worked before you changed the pump you likely messed up the sending unit on the pump assembly.

Does the car start and run normally?  Then it's not a problem with the pump. It's an issue with either the gauge, its wiring or the sensor in the tank.  Did you dislodge some wiring when doing the pump?
