Is a Toyota MR2 Spyder reliable, cheap on parts, and interchangeable with other Toyota parts.?

I'm ok spending $200 a month on repairs and maintenance so changing the cars fluids wouldn't bother me because it's not often. I saw one for 40,000 miles for $13,000 i plan on getting.

That sounds like a rip off price.  The car is almost twenty years old now (if not over).  You will be probably be replacing a lot of parts for the car to be reliable.  And the 40k miles is doubtful.

They are reliable as other Toyotas. That doesn't say that particular one has no problems.T he older MR2 had a problem with the speedometer gear leaking oil and it was very hard to do the repair. he same engine as the Camry is in the MR2, but the turbo engine is modified. Don't think you're going to do more than routine maintenance since the engine is in a very tight compartment.
