News showing ration limits and empty shelves of food and items. How many people prepare for that (instead of panic buying for the coronavirus)?
100 percent NOT to prepare for the coronavirus. How many people think the actual "doomsday" is the Day the RATION LIMITS and EMPTY SHELVES are first seen everywhere on the news?

I know people that have a large pantry stocked with (IMO) way too many duplicates and triplicates of things that will expire before they could use them.
I have enough on hand that I don't have to replenish every other week (or few weeks).
Even in the worst case scenario of this pandemic - I don't feel the need to buy things I couldn't possibly use before they expire. Makes no sense to me.

Ever since living through a tornado and the aftermath about 20+ years ago my husband and I keep a well stocked pantry and freezer. We use the food and replace it when needed. We have enough food for at least 6 months. We also have chickens for eggs and bees for honey and gardens and a small orchard plus a greenhouse.
We live in a rural area and many people here grow stuff and have well stocked pantries. Our groceries aren't emptied out yet.

We have always kept extra staple items on hand, rotating our stock. I'd have liked to get one package of TP but we have enough on hand to get us to May.
But you can't stockpile fresh vegetables, and people are cleaning out the stores of those. How much fresh produce will go to waste over this foolishness?
