How can I convince my dad to move out of our bad house?

So about 8 months ago my dad made the drastic decision without consulting my family to contact the landlord of a 1959 haunted looking farmhouse that had been owned by 10’s of owners and abused for absolutely no smart reason. This house was in and still is in terrible condition, with cracked ceilings, smelly carpets, creepy outdated appliances that freak everyone out, weird floor plans, ugly small rooms, moldy windowsills, and probably other underlying problems as well. We moved from a beautiful home in a good neighbor and area to some isolated shack with no life around us, and I use these words because thats what people looking at it on the road would see. I also say it because no body in my family except my dad likes this house at all. It is a creepy, abused, trashed house that is ugly and has problems and should be burned to the ground. But for some reason he saw potential in it and told us we would renovate. 8 months pass and not a freaking thing has been done. Nicer, newer houses nearby in the area are selling for around the same price as this haunted house, but my dad apparently does not like modern homes, and would rather make all of us miserable and embarrassed of our own home and move us into some rotting ugly house. I know this seems harsh but does anyone have any suggestions on what I should say because my family and I hate it here and we want a good home we want to live in and want to call our home, not some place we wish would fall to rubble.

What it comes down to is your dad's decision; I assume he's the one paying for it, so that's that. If I was in your position I would do everything in my power to make it a nicer place to live. If the rest of your family hates it too, propose some ideas to them to make your house a place that you'll want to live. Maybe you don't have to do a full blown renovation, and instead tackle each issue at a time. For example, take out the carpet and replace it with a better flooring. That could make a good project, and it doesn't have to be complicated. Painting the walls can go a long way too. Evaluate what needs to be done, and turn it into a project with your family to do it. The cracked ceiling can be fixed with drywall tape and mud and isn't a difficult fix. For the appliances, replacing them doesn't have to be expensive or difficult. Facebook Marketplace always has people getting rid of appliances for low prices or even free. Just about everything you need to fix up your home can be done with materials from a hardware store and a wikihow article.

You don't................ you are either a child in which case you have no choice to make or you  are an adult still living at home...in which your choice is to remain living with your parents ad put up with their decisions or you move out and pay your own rent/bills in a place you can afford and want to live in

Suck it up ! When you can pay the rent/ mortgage you can then make the decisions.

You should talk to your daddy and explain that while he pays the mortgage you're a whiney little child who is going to stamp her little foot until she gets what she wants.
