How to install speakers for the older XP operating system that has not internet connections?

HI! I have an art program that was no longer upgraded after XP was phased out and still have the tower that holds this operating system. I'd like to use it, and when I plugged in the little speakers, they did not speak to me! The little light on the one did not light up. Am I missing some internal connector that needs to be done, or ... what? I borrowed the speakers as they were working from another computer , so it would not seem that they are unhappy little guys!! I appreciate any honest help!  The CVirus days are getting longer and longer!

If they did not light up, the are not connected to power or just not switched on.
Or, if they are USB connected, they will probably never work with XP.

You need speakers that connect with a 3.5mm plug and have a wall plug for power - not USB.
(If the advert mentions USB or shows a USB plug, ignore it).

They should then work fine.

Go to Control panel -----> Sound and click open it.
Then activate the sound system to detect the speaker amplifier.
Test the sound under "test" and adjust the volume.
Test again with a song was stored inside the xp if it has.

You need to troubleshoot.  Connect the speakers to known good computer with a known good headphone jack.  If they do not work there then they are bad.
