No, ‘60s were better as far as I’m concerned. I noticed everybody just started getting more self-centered in the ‘70s...
indeed a magazine called “SELF” hit the newsstands which seemed to sum up the prevailing attitude...everybody got more taken in by the corporate mentality, family-destroying “no-fault” divorce legislation started spreading to every state like cancer after Republican governor Ronald Reagan first signed it into law in CA in 1969...feminism started spreading its wings and taking off...the unabashedly money-grubbing “yuppie” movement emerged onto the scene..and so on. In point of fact, the ‘70s is when it all started going to Sh itsville here. We’ve been circling around that hole in the great white toilet bowl of oblivion ever since.

No. The 70s was marked by hyperinflation and the 80s started with a recession and it ended with another one under George HW Bush.
