Chrome browser saying connection isn't private and asking for unknown username and password?

My son has a dell Inspiron gaming desktop and today it wouldn't let him boot chrome and said connection isn't private and wanted a username and password. We tried his google password but that didn't work. What password are they looking for? Or, how can we fix it.

He also just got a netduma r2 I believe.

He downloaded some firmware that had to do with the netduma r2. What it seems to be doing is instead of taking him to his home page on google, it's taking him to a site call dumaos. The site has something to do with networking all of your devices in your home. So, now we're trying to figure out how to get it off and back to google.

Chrome by itself does not ask for passwords. Since Chrome is an internet browser, the login request you are seeing is from a website most probably visited by your son the last time he used Chrome with that computer. You should be able to close that active tab (the one asking for a username and password) and use Chrome normally again. I advise you also clear the history and cache of Chrome to avoid seeing that page again. To prevent this from happening again, set Chrome to save passwords and make sure to click on the Remember Me box on the log-in screen when you log-in for the first time.
