Is it rude to refuse to celebrate thanksgiving?

I hate Thanksgiving so much. Most boring use of a holiday ever. Would rather be at work. Is it refuse that I told my family that I do not plan to come? No excuse- just I dont want to.

Its fine not to wanna celebrate...i know ppl who hate birthday celebrations.  Its ok to say no and extend them well wishes and thank them for the invite.

I guess not if you don’t like it and you see your family other times a year. Now if you don’t see them much yes it can be rude but they can’t make you but it could hurt your relationship. Just tell them that you have to work sorry you can’t make it

I'm happy in Florida too. Just because we're not thankful for family doesn't mean we can't be thankful for other things... I can't imagine being bored when I count my blessings.
Even though we've always said, "Family has the same cooties" it's not really true with Covid-19 going around. Seems like that's a built-in excuse.
If you can go to work on Thursday, be sure to wear your mask. The bigger whiff you get of the virus, the more severe the illness. At least with the mask on, if you get it, it should be a mild case.

No people can celebrate or not celebrate how they want

If this is the first time, I'd opt out because you don't want to expose, or be exposed by others to the Covid-19 virus. In future years, you can say it worked so well in 2020 that you think  you will stay home.
