It's been tested on 152 people and the researchers say it's too soon to be considered any type of regular treatment protocol.  The research does not say it stops "severe cases".  The drug is used only when there is mild or no disease progression.

dexamethasone has been around for 60 years and used for many things.  My neighbors use it when they go skiing to avoid altitude sickness.  It's an anti-inflammatory,  It's super cheap and one of the drugs trump too.  In studies it shows zero disease progression when taken early but other studies show it doesn't help early on but instead after disease progression... thus, who knows.

A company called regeneron received emergency FDA approved for outpatient treatment a couple of weeks ago.  This is another one of the drugs trump took.
