Yes it is a start. Mainly heavy squats and deadlifts. You should also do other exercises to supplement and work other body parts.
FYI @Goji. You are WRONG abt caloric intake. It is PROTEIN(amino acids) that builds and repairs muscle NOT CALORIES.
Calories is just rating of fuel burn. It has nothing to do with muscle building.
GOJI YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO HEALTH CLASS AND LEARN WHAT ACTUALLY BUILDS MUSCLE.

Best way to get bigger is to lift heavy weights and a caloric surplus (consuming more calories than you burn a day).
