I probably just did a smartphone tech's biggest nightmare ever?
when I shower, I like to listen to podcasts, but since I don't have a speaker (nor can I have one since I don't want my brother next door to hear), I just put the phone in the shower with me. I have an iPhone XR, and I've never super bad issues with water. I keep my phone away from the stream but occasional droplets may come by. Anyways, I like to lean my phone between two soap bottles and keep the speaker up. Somehow, I got shampoo in the phone charging port. I didn't realize after I went to charge it, that a pop-up came on my phone telling me there was liquid in the charging port. I shook my phone to dry the water in there. Well, as I kept checking the charge to see if there was more water, but then I realized that it got in my speakers too, so I took off my case and I was filled with terror. That's when I realized the true horror I was faced with. I'm no technician, but I did my best to clean up the mess. 1. Q-tips 2. Q-tips didn't help, so I grabbed a small nail file I had and put toilet paper on the top to wipe the inside 3. Uh oh, the paper was too thick and it got stuck 4. Pour water on the paper to loosen it (I know, I'm an idiot) 5. Probably scratched the insides trying to take it out, and achieved, and 6. Did the same thing again but since it was a more foamy, water soap, I was able to clean it better. It started charging again, but just a little bit after charging, the pop-up came up again. Should I call an actual technician? (I'm so sorry)
