Can someone explain this joke?

I get the joke, but don't find it funny. Perhaps that type of humour isn't to my taste.
Keep in mind, that explaining a joke to someone never gets a laugh either, so don't expect to:

The concept behind it is that the patriarchy ruled society since time eternal, or so the story goes. Only those with a penis could be part of the patriarchy, of course.
When women gather together collectively to form a power base, then the joke is the characterisation would have to be sort of like a penis, even though individually they feel feminine.

Hence, because an idealistic form of socialism would mean we are all truly equals, then the juxtaposition of such a society means that these women's power base must have been penile in nature.


I know it all sounds very complex and actually ridiculous, but that's my take on it.
It's a dumb joke and that's the best I could do to explain it, but perhaps someone else can simplify it all....Show more
