Is this a enough to live on $1000 a week after taxes ?

San Diego CA. Male, single, no dependents.  My rent will be $1,500 a month which includes utilities.  I have the option to work a lot of overtime so if I need to up it to $1500 a week after taxes I have the option.

Some landlords will only rent to someone who makes at least 3 times the rent.

If you can't live on that, you're spending an awful lot of money on stuff you don't need. Some people support whole families on less.
