Catholics, are you confused and disillusioned that priests nuns and the pope endorsed Biden?

I am pro life in all situations and I have to admit that I am a 1 or 2 issue supporter of Trump and being pro life is number 1.  I know that everyone has their reasons why they support an issue I know that abortions are not the only human rights that needs to be addressed and we MUST find a way to help immigrants who honestly want a better life. I never thought I would hear those who are over the churches especially the pope say that being pro life is not enough to vote for president Trump. I haven’t been to mass in a year because of COVID but I’m not going to lie it’s more because I don’t want to be a part of a church who can support not only early abortions but full term abortion.  I have heard that this doesn’t mean that they are endorsing abortion but I was always taught that if you support a politician then you are okay with what they promise and that preserving life should be the number 1 reason that you should support

Fatal probably is definitely unless you were there you can’t know. I have “ heard “ at one time he was pro choice, but people change their beliefs all of the time.  I’m not sure that COVID was handled in the right way but he didn’t bring it to the United States. Since it came under his administration it’s easy for democrats to convince people that they would have handled it different but we can’t know that for sure because it’s after the fact.

EddieJ it is not “ silly “ to consider pro life number one in my beliefs. Yes I do think that helping immigrants and the environment to be very important. If everyone considered the same thing as number 1 that would be the only thing that would be fixed. It takes everyone striving to better our country for all different reasons.

God of thunder: I 100 percent support free birth control. I have no idea how being pro life makes me a bigot.   It doesn’t matter to me which administration there had been more abortions. Agree or disagree,  President Trump has done more to stop access to abortions and close clinics than any other president.  I support my tax money going to planned parenthood for women’s health.  I believe that women’s health consists of complete physicals, Pap smears, mammograms and birth control

Cont..... abortion IS NOT a necessity because in most cases when women and men are responsible.  Personally I could never accept abortion as a solution. I do support 100 percent my tax money supporting 1 unplanned pregnancy but anymore is abusing my hard earned tax money and once again is “ preventable “ I have a family member who said that she wanted to have her children while taxpayers were paying and intentionally did not get a job and did not marry the father of all 3.

Fireball  this is not the church teaching I grew up with.

I do know that some Catholics have always been pro choice but there was a time when it wasn’t acceptable by most, It breaks my heart that for the first time that I know of where the pope and priests have publicly supported a pro choice candidate. They have spoke positive for democrats but not one where pro choice was a big part of their campaign.  I’m not asking for approval, I just want to know if any other Catholics feel the same

Samwise if Trump made it easier for women to get abortions then why are pro choice skanks bitching?  Democrats make it easier for women to abuse taxpayers. What they should e doing is encouraging them to be responsible.  Here’s a novel idea, how about not having children if you can’t afford them ?

Well, let's get the situation clear: The Trump administration steadily and significantly increased abortions, just like every other Republican administration from Reagan's on.

That's because taking the position that the government should be able to treat pregnant women as its property doesn't really address the problem. What does address the problem, successfully, is what Democratic administrations have delivered: policies that make raising children more affordable for more people.

Some of them do, some don't, just like any other large group of people. Besides, a lot of the people who voted "for Biden" were actually voting against Trump.

No, Francis Did Not endorse Biden. Even the usually gutless USCCB stated the abortion issue took precedence over Biden’s other positions. I am not confused or disillusioned about people in the Church rejecting established Church teaching; that’s been going on from the start. But Jesus promised the Catholic Church would remain forever. Btw I belong to an FSSP parish.

No, I'm not confused and disillusioned at all. The Church is split between libreals and conservatives too. We can assume that any religious that endorsed Biden must be on the left side of Catholicism. The side with the goats.
