Mercury poisoning is cumulative. If you break a couple of tubes a year for 10 years, you might start noticing effects. Here is what you need to do right now: 1. ventilate the house thoroughly (open windows). Do not return to the house fpr at least half an hour. 2. Use paper towels (not vacuum) to clean up the glass and the white powder, then bring the paper towels outside. 3. Get plenty to drink over the next 2 or 3 days, this will help your body flush out excess mercury. 4. If you have small children or are pregnant, speak to a doctor as it is more harmful in those cases.
