Sandy Koufax was actually an outstanding pitcher. Pedroia was very good but may not have played long enough to reach the stats he's need for the Hall of Fame. He's also not eligible yet. He has to be out of the league for five years to be on the ballot.

Koufax had a legendary career. His career was shorter only because he decided to do something else with his life, leaving the game while he was on top at the age of 30, having won the Cy Young three of his last four years and leading the league in ERA his last five years. 2-time World Series MVP and a ridiculous ERA of 0.95 in the postseason.
Pedroia was a very good ballplayer on some good Red Sox teams but a legend only to Red Sox fans.

Comparing Koufax to Pedroia is a joke. Koufax was legendary. Pedroia was good. No comparison. None.

Pedroia was an average player at best. Koufax among the greatest ever.
