Why did God say by tongues, "I see darkness upon the Earth and gross darkness upon the people"?

He gave this in a message in late 1980s and I wonder was he speaking about Earth today for the our Earth's wild life is living in Darkness and Jesus just left a warning, "Many will believe upon me but unless their name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life they shall not enter"......It makes me wonder what they see happening in this world that made them say these things.....

God told us what would happen in the Last Days. It looks very dark, and the political Left seems to be the carrier (the catalyst, if you will) of the trouble. God told us things, and we were missing some details. Now, apparently, we are getting some details; a political movement that no Law or system of Justice is able to stop. For whatever reason. We are watching it now in the Democratic Party, they inexplicably changed and succeed in everything they do to draw power and authority to themselves. One the most apparent things about God's prophesies for the End Times, is that the West seems absent from world affairs. I think we are seeing a part of why that happens, we were missing some details. Not just Pelosi, not just tearing up the SOTU speech. But the attitude against  America that is in focus.
