Is a 291 sq ft hotel room that is a suite a big enough size for five people to stay in for two night stays?
I've been comparing hotel rooms, and the one I want because it's closer to the beach is 291 sq ft, but this other nice one I saw is 398 sq ft and doesn't include free breakfast.

It really depends more on the available sleeping spaces and not necessarily the size of the room. If that room only has one bed, then it's not going to be big enough. If it has 2 beds and a couch, then it might (assuming the adults can share a double bed, which is what you'll likely find there). Be aware that many hotels don't allow 5 people in a room, especially without an additional charge.
Square footage doesn’t necessarily mean more floor space to walk around or sleep. Many hotels will not allow five adults in one room. There are hotels that have a five person room. A small sofa that pulls out. Using one bathroom will be a pain, but possible. I wouldn’t want to be in the room all day and night. Hotels are not serving breakfast. You can expect an individual plastic bottle of orange juice and a package pastry. I don’t think is going to change for awhile.
Depends how many sleeping places are in the smaller one, unless some of you are okay with sleeping on the floor. 291 sq ft is 29' x 10', if that helps you visualize.
