Does the deletion of the "Slavery Grievance" alter the Declaration of Independence and if so, how? Why or why not?

Is the slavery grievance part of the Declaration of Independence?  If so, then it can't be deleted from it.  You can alter all the copies you want and pretend the text isn't in there, but it doesn't change the fact it's part of the actual document any more than ignoring the fact one of the complaints of the Founding Fathers was that George III was ignoring their desire to wipe out Indian savages is in there.

It just means you're not distributing accurate copies of the Declaration of Independence.
