Just change the word “worship” to “love” and then think about your question a bit more.... What’s the point of loving anyone? Say like your parents, your children, your spouse, etc.? Worship isn’t exactly the same as love, but the thoughts that are brought to mind may be similar....

There is none. It's pointlessly giving reverence to either an imaginary invisible man in the sky or, in the case of worshiping real live people, giving far too high of praise to people who don't deserve that level of reverence.
