Why are Democrats against using an ID to vote?
You need an ID to drive a car, buy cigarettes/alcohol, buy a car or house, and to open up a bank account.

Haven't been asked to provide ID for alcohol or cigs in 40 years.
House/car. Maybe because you want an expensive item worth a bucket load of money.
I don't need to provide I.D every time I use my bank account. The same as when I provided ID when I registered to vote.

As long as the ID is easy to get and everyone has one. If you want to require a particular government-issued ID, then the government ought to issue that ID to all at the time of registration to vote.
I do not have a problem with asking people to demonstrate that they are who they claim to be. I have a problem with using that reasonable request as an excuse to prevent a citizen from exercising his right to vote.
But I am not a democrat. I simply am definitely not a Republican. It is anti-American to try to prevent citizens from voting by any means at all. We ought to be making it easier for every single American to vote, not the other way around.
