Yesterday she reached new heights.
She had some tickets left at the end of the day. She called one of her routine customer and requested him to take one ticket. He asked for a ticket ending 42, and she kept it aside. The sale was done and she agreed to collect Rs.200 next day. (around three US dollars)
Later the result was announced. The same ticket ending with 42 won the first prize 6 crore. (a little less than million dollars)
She promptly handed over the ticket to the rightful owner, told him he'd won 6 crore and collected Rs.200.

Makes a great story, isn't it? Except that it isn't a story.

Easily........in the movie  "It Could Happen to You"......a cop promises a waitress half his lottery winnings, as a tip,   since he was short on cash, and had none left for a tip.

So she agreed........and he won, and kept his word, after the ticket was worth  $6 Million dollars.

and while that movie is mostly fictional,  what many don't know, if that it *was* based on a TRUE LIFE story.

A New York Cop  knew a waitress in a pizzeria for over 15 years. One day he jokingly asked her to split a lottery ticket, instead of a tip,  and she agreed.   Together, they picked the numbers.

and sure enough........the ticket really was worth  $6 Million dollars.  And he kept his word and split the prize with her,  even though both were married.

In the movie, they both divorce their spouses and marry each other, after losing all their winnings but in real life,  both remained happily married, and will collect something like $270,000  a year, for 21 years.
