What can I do if kids scratched my car?

I live in an apartment complex and my neighbors daughter brings all the kids from the street to play in the backyard and the front area where all the cars are parked. A few weeks ago I noticed 2 long, deep scratches on the drivers side. I asked her mom to tell her daughter and her friends to not be playing around the cars. The lady got defensive and said the kids can play wherever they want. The next day I find 2 more scratches on the passenger side. I left it alone because I had no proof. A few days later I hear my other neighbor talking to the lady about his car being scratched too, again the lady told him the same thing. Then the next day I see my neighbor from downstairs working on his car and asks me about the scratches on my car because he’s parked next to me and had scratches on his car as well on both sides! My moms car was also scratched on both sides. What can we do? I called the police and they just said to call our insurance but we still have to pay for the deductible 😒

The police also said if I report them they’re not going to do much investigating…

With no proof, not much

1. install a camera, then sue the parent(s) of the kid(s) who did it.
2.  Park somewhere else

If you repair the scratches,  what are the chances who ever did it the first time will do it again.

Even if you had a dash camera installed,  it cant show what is happening on the side of the car.

Install security cameras and find out who is scratching the car and then demand payment and/or due in Small Claims.

Sure, the kids can play "wherever they want", but not at the expense of the neighbors' cars. Send the mother a bill for the deductible.
