Learn prefixes, roots and suffixes as well as the rules of how to combine them so that instead of having to commit a whole to memory as one unit when you see the word you can recognise the parts and assemble the parts as required.  The place where the meaning of words lives in your brain is not dependent on pictures.  Write the words repeatedly, it takes something like twenty times at least.  This will commit them to your muscle memory, like how you can punch in a code or a phone number without thinking about it, but as soon as you try to remember it you can't remember it at all!  By the same reasoning try forming each syllable with your mouth every time you read or write the word so that you encode it with your muscle memory.  Many artists have aphantasia.  Seemingly the compulsion to "think" in pictures drives many people with aphantasia to doodle and then to keep refining the doodles into art.  Same principle with writing out the words.
