Why does my brake pedal go quite low when braking downhill?
Not sure if my breakes are worn out but i noticed my braking isn't as good as it used to be. My pedal goes quite low but i noticed it's worse when braking downhill. I check the brake fluid and it's between the min and max but not on the max line should i add more brake fluid? How long can i safely drive this car like that? I really don't want to fix the brakes as i plan on trading the car in for a new one soon.

Top it up to just under Max. But if you have Drum rears, it may just need to be adjusted. You can try backing up and pumping the brakes but it maybe rusty and stuck and need to be done manually. If you have Disc rears you may need to adjust the pedal freeplay, you may have too much. It should be around 1 inch.
its the brakes fix it asap sounds like they need to be bleed and inspected for a small leak. If the brakes aren't working properly you shouldn't be on the road that is negligence on your behalf if anything happens
