Would sleeping a lot cause weight loss?

Because instead of a person eating, they could sleep instead. They also wouldn't feel hungry because they are sleeping. I don't mean sleeping all day, but taking a nap during the day.

Getting too little sleep is said to contribute to over-eating. However, sleeping to excess (more than 8-9 hrs/day) could lead to a person being famished when they wake up, and overeating (bingeing).
