Why do some people use "you have too much time" as an insult?
"You have nothing more important to do"
"You have nothing better to do with your time"
"You have too much free time on your hands"
Or any variant of that.
Such lines are typically used when the person on the receiving end is spending time doing something that the person on the giving end does not think is important.
Why is it used as an insult? Am I actually supposed to be insulted? Is having free time a bad thing? Like....oh noooo! I'm not busy running around with a chicken with its head cut off! My life is soooo terrible!

choko_canyon - That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. How does having free time translate to no ambition? So unless I'm working every waking hour, that means I have no drive?? Because I'm not running around like a chicken with its head cut off, that means I do nothing important??
