A 7.00-g lead bullet traveling at 480 m/s is stopped by a large tree. If half the kinetic energy of the bullet is transformed into internal energy and remains with the bullet while the other half is transmitted to the tree, what is the increase in temperature of the bullet?

Or are there some things it can't possibly explain at all? No matter how much we try to figure it out?
1 Answer2 weeks agoUsing the formula power = current × voltage, find the current drawn by a 1700-W toaster connected to 150 V .?
A) Using the formula power = current × voltage, find the current drawn by a 1700-W toaster connected to 150 V .
B) Then, using the equation current = voltage/resistance, find the resistance of the toaster.

A fire hose is aimed straight up, and blasts water at a constant rate (meaning the kilograms per second coming out of the hose is constant). A 6 kg bowling ball is balanced at rest on top of the spray of water, 3 m above the nozzle of the fire hose. The speed of the water as it leaves the fire hose is 25 m/s. How many kilograms per second of water must be hitting the bowling ball? (picture included)

A wooden brick with mass M = 2 kg is suspended at the end of cords as shown above. A bullet with mass m = 3 g is fired toward the brick with speed v0 = 1 x 103 m/s. The bullet collides with the brick embedding itself into the brick. The brick-bullet system will swing upward after the collision.
(a) During the collision of the brick and the bullet, compare the magnitude and direction of the impulse acting on the brick to the impulse acting on the bullet. Justify your answer.
(b) Calculate the magnitude of the velocity v of the brick-bullet system just after the collision.
(c) Determine the ratio of the final kinetic energy of the brick-bullet system immediately after the collision to the initial kinetic energy of the brick-bullet system.
(d) Determine the maximum vertical position above the initial position reached by the brick-bullet system.

2 weeks agoWhat is this new physics theory called Emergence theory? They seem to say quasicrystalline is the building block of physics?
They seem to say quasicrystalline is building block of physics if I understand it.
There is very little information because it is a new theory but from what I understand it is new theory trying to explain the problems with gravity and other problems of physics. The Emergence Theory is saying a theory of pixelated spacetime and of reality as a Quasicrystalline point space projected from the E8 Crystal.
If I understand what they are saying quasicrystalline or quasicrystal are building block of physics?
Can some one simplify this new theory on Emergence Theory and explain it to me. If this theory is proven true what does this mean for physics?

2 Answers2 weeks agoWhat force is required to move the inner cylinder in the axial direction with a constant speed of 1m / s?
A cylinder with a diameter of 122 mm and a length of 200 mm is located in the pipe with a diameter of 125 mm. In the space between the two cylinders, oil with a kinematic viscosity of 30 cSt (at a temperature of 20 ° C) and a relative density of 0.9 is introduced.
What force is required to move the inner cylinder in the axial direction with a constant speed of 1m / s?
What will be the percentage decrease of this force if the oil is heated to 120 ° C (oil viscosity 2.06 mPa * s)?

2. You discover an old laser in your lab that you would like to use for an upcoming experiment, but its wavelength is unknown. To measure it, you direct the laser beam at a double-slit setup with a slit separation of 0.155 mm. You project the resulting interference pattern on a wall 2.14 m away. The first bright fringe is located 0.00876 m from the central bright fringe. Find the wavelength of the laser in nanometers.
