What happens to expired open questions?

If there is only one answer, does the answerer get the points (they should), if there is more than one is the questioner promted to choose? What happens in a tie-break? Are the points split?

Yes, if there is only one answer, the answerer gets the points. If there is more than one answer, the questioner can pick the best one or put them to a vote. This is explained in the alert email when you get an answer. In a tie-break, the person who wins the vote gets the points. Hope this answers your questions!
