How many grams are in a pint?

I read on a site that drinking 5-30 grams of alcohol a week can reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes and i was wondering how much that is.

    Well Alcohol is a little lighter than water, and 1 gram of water is 1 mililiter.

    There are 473 mililiters in 1 US pint so there are a little less than 473 grams of alcohol in a pint.

    Now keep in mind, your typical vodka is only 40% alcohol, wine is about 12% and most american beer is 3-5%.

    So to get 30 grams of alcohol you would need to drink approximately 2 12 ounce american beers.

    Grams are a weight measurement, a pint in a fluid measurement. They do not cross over unless you have a particular liquid in mind. If you are talking Vodka, you will have to weight a pint of vodka and go from there.
