why do antimony and bismuth have the same electron affinities?

i need the answer to this question for homework. if u didn't already know elctron affinity is defined as the attraction of an atom for an electron.

    It's because of the number of valence electrons they have. They are both willing to give 3 electrons away (which is why the have a negative three charge), so they also share the same affinity for electrons.
