how could cal ripken jr play 163 games in1996 for the orials?

    One of their games got rained out. The game on 6/17 v. Texas Rangers was rained out after 6 innings with the score tied 1-1. So they had to make up this game. However, since he had started this game (along with all 162 others), Cal Ripken Jr gets credit for playing in 163 games that year. It does NOT take into account the playoffs.
