Why don't I get the points for questions to which I am the only answer?
I asked a question earlier about what happens to open expired questions, if there was only one answer. I was told, the lone answerer gets the points.
This does not seem to happen:
See: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Apdrz...
for example.
Is the system broken, or is that not really the rule?

You don't get points if yours is the only answer when it expires, you only get points if your answer is chosen, or if there are two answers, it will automatically go to a vote. If yours is the only answer, no points, unless they've changed it, because I haven't gotten points for giving the only answer, which then expires.

I'm not quite sure what your talking about, do you mean at the end of the period the only person with the answers gets the points, like the ten points for the winning answer? That may be true, however, i just answered the question you had as an example so maybe the period isn't over yet?

In the example link, you were one of 2 answeres. In that case it will automatically go to a vote, if the Asker continues to do nothing.
In a case where you actually are the ONLY answerer, and the asker does nothing, you will eventually get the points.

no, the system isn't broken. you will get the points when the question expires, usually 14 days after it asked. i looked at the question & i do find it weird that the question has expired and you haven't received points. you probably did receive the points, except you just didn't notice them.

wait'll it expires. Takes 14 days. The user can call a vote or vote you the best answer but they may want to wait.
