I'm going there next week for a business trip and I want to stay somewhere within walking distance of SoHo and Lan Kwai Fong.

Four Seasons Hong Kong is my personal favorite. Its also one of the most expensive. Walking to SoHo and Lan Kwai Fong should take 5 - 10 minutes.

Why stay in Central? That's a waste of your money. The best place to stay is the Salisbury YMCA. It's a very short walk to the Star Ferry, which takes you directly to Central for 2.2 Hong Kong dollars. Such a deal and so beautiful! The YMCA is the cleanest hotel for the value with views of the harbor.
