use Konqueror, Mozilla based browers(Firefox included) don't have the same FTP support as IE. Generally Konqueror is pre-installed in some debian distros like Ubuntu

I suggest using an online FTP like FTP Live http://www.ftplive.com/

You can use any OS or any computer with an internet connection.

    ftp://yourID@domain.com

This should ask you for password and shoudl give you directory structure of your login.

    Enjoy.

The personal computer manager could be any of likely a dozen or more desirable diverse classes / layouts. and those could be added custom. Linux is unlike windoze, and obviously unlike Mac (because you've a one-length suits all GUI for MAC). you may have very, very extremely diverse computers - searching on your man or woman skills and alternatives of personal computer managers. in case you want to replica a Mac gui, attempt a google seek for on "personal computer manager linux Mac" to ascertain what comes up. setting up a private computer manager could be as complicated as making use of apt-get, or as easy as gadget, administration, Synaptic kit manager, and seek for for personal computer to ascertain each of those which could properly be put in from there (or certain names in case you recognize them).
