Can you provide a good estimate of how gas mileage is affected by increasing one's speed five miles per hour?

Sources please.

Update:

I'm comparing 65 to 70 in an average sedan style car.

Just for quick reference, you need a benchmark. Some vehicles will get better gas mileage at a faster speed than others because the combination of aerodynamics, gearing of the transmission, and the optimal operating RPMs of the engine all meet at a slightly differing point.

What speeds are you comparing? 40 to 45, 45 to 50, 50 to 55, etc.
