Any good ideas on how my nonprofit group can raise money to help people hurt in minefield explosions?

Are you wanting to raise this money in America? It matters a bit as fund raising differs somewhat from one country to the next.

Depending on how much money you have to get started, you can hire a fund raising company (most expencive) to advertising what you are doing with fliers (least expencive).

Another factor will be, what country or countries are you doing this for. Some countries religions will not allow money raised by an activity that goes against their religious beliefs.

Do you have a spokes person? Someone who was injured by a mine will help a great deal.

Once you find out how you are going to raise the money, contact your local radio, television, and newspapers. Sometimes they have free advertisement time for charity.

Stay away from candy sales and door to door or street corner bucket gathering. The candy companies are making a bundle on these and door to door and corner sales are dangerous and you could be required as an organization to have insurance for them.

It helps to know the ages of those who will participate. I heard of a group of 1st graders raising money by collecting pennies. It was a huge success. This leads me to your slogan. A catch phrase that is easy to remember, short and to the point. Make sure it will touch people’s hearts.
