Sears Tower or John Hancock: Which has the better view?

I've been up the Sears Tower Skydeck a few times, but I heard that the John Hancock Observtory has a better view. Is this true?

I visited both towers when I went to Chicago two years ago and I find that the Hancock tower has the best view overall. The Sears Tower has a good view of skyline and Lake Michigan, but its windows are framed by beams supporting the building. The Hancock is situated next to the lake apart from the rest of the skyline and therefore you have a picture perfect view of the lake and you can see all of the skyscrapers--including the Sears Tower, without anything obstructing you. Furthermore, the Hancock has exhibits and interactive stuff that your kids will enjoy while being up there, while the Sears Tower offers nothing else but the view.

I personally like the view from the Sears Tower the best. Hancock gives a little better view of the lakefront though, and the office towers along Michigan Avenue (not to mention it has a Cheesecake Factory at its base for when you get hungry :)

John Hancock. Supposedly, the women's restroom at the Signature Room on the 96th floor in the Hancock has Chicago's best view to the south. Pun not intended, but the irony of my answer just hit me, so I'm rolling with it.
