I make and sell my own cards, invitations, and scrapbooks. The price of the invitations depends on several things, one is area where they are being sold, and mostly on how you are making them. If they are simply printed from a computer & put together, then not as much as say printing, then doing some embellishments by hand, adding ribbon, layering papers, embossing, etc... How much per invite needs to cover all your materials, time, and hopefully some overhead.

In my area (bay area, CA), people will easily spend $4.00 on very basic hand-stamped or hand-painted cards. For wedding invitations, we can easily get $6.00 per invite. The more intricate and detailed the card, the more that we can charge. If you are just starting your business, it's good to give clients a range then show them several examples of what each price range would entail.

If you aren't already a member, you might want to check out the Yahoo! group Scrapping4others (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Scrapping4Others/?yg... It's a group of people that help each other with product ideas, pricing, marketing ideas, and more.

Just make sure you don't under-value YOUR work. Your time, talent, and materials should all be covered by your cost!

As I am not having save the date cards I am sending out my wedding invites in Jan/Feb I am getting married in July Because July being in the Summer people will need to know well in advance about holidays and leave off work etc Give people at least 3 months notice in my opinion it will make it easier for them booking time off work if their work needs a certain amount of notice,or some jobs have a thing where only a certain amount of people are allowed to be off at once so giving your guests notice will be to their advantage as they are more likely to get time off work Also it will make travelling arrangements easier and booking hotels etc easier If your invites won't be ready until march then send them out when there ready thats your only choice really I would send the save the date cards asap

It depends on what they looked like and how many you needed but thinking in average amount I would say like $15-50 a piece , I dont know.
