Any thoughts on Edward Abbey- any fans?

    Yes, a fan. I particularly like the nonfiction "Desert Solitaire" and "Abbey's Road" but the novel "The Monkey Wrench Gang" is good too. One of the first of the really activist ecological writers. I think of him sitting in the harsh desert like a cactus, prickly and uncomfortable -- esp. towards those who would change the land.
