Is dog food safe to be eaten by humans?
Never knew this. Just curious. What does dog food have or what doesn't it have that makes it different from human food?

Of course it's safe to eat! It has the same nutrients and stuff that our food has it's just cooked diferently and packed together to make it easier and healthier to eat(for dogs and humans). Here's a little unknown fact: The human concumption of dogfood every year equals over 2,398 bags of the 50 pound type, and there are diets that actually require you to eat dogfood like things and in China they eat stuff that is prepared almost the exactly same way as dog food, every day! this stuff is amazing though it may not all be true got it off the web the part about it being safe and healthy was no lie though read the back for nutriens (duh!!!!!!)

In the UK there is a company called P***** P******, who have a very large canning plant - this is where W**** and various other brands come from. Cat meat & dog meat. In the event of an emergency (war etc), in the space of 20 minutes, they can be churning out tins of HUMAN food. Now other than changing the labels on the machine, I am guessing that not a great deal is really happening. Perhaps a couple of vitamin additives which are not need for humans are switched off - but I think it is a remarkably fair bet to assume that essentially EVERYTHING is safe to go into the can for humans as well as dogs. Just like you would not want to eat meat lumps all day without other forms of food - then I would guess eating dog food only would be unwise. Not harmful in itself though - just not balanced.
