How can Americans undo the damage to our reputation the Bush Administration has inflicted?

In the last 5 years, the Bush Administration has destroyed the credibility and reputation that America once enjoyed. How can Americans restore or try to restore our good name in the world once the Bushies are out?

Sixty years after The Third Reich Germany is now regarded as a rational, responsible member of the Earth's so-called global village.

When an administration behaves as insanely and deplorably as this one has we must take heart that based on my above example the world seems to be a more forgiving place than we believe.

Within a few generations it will just seem like eight years of temporary insanity.

If your refering to the reputation of being a pushover of a country that gives money and aid to countries that have no need, making under the table deals that are still having ramifacations with eastern nations that effect our economy to this day, or kissing the back side of middle easten leaders just because they have oil so they can run tests on their own people with deadly nerve gases while they make plans for invasion on their nieghbors and western fronts. Then I'm sorry, but I'm glad the bush administration has ruined our reputaion in that aspect.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. I can't tell you how many times I have been asked "Why did you Americans vote for Bush?" when I travel abroad. This guy has trashed our reputation so bad. I agree with the other writer. Time will heal this wound. A new leader that can build relationships will help tremendously.

The "damage" you claim is fueled by folks like you. We do need differing opinions, but blaming one man for all that is wrong or all that any one person has done is foolish! America should not wait for the whole world to agree before we act. It is better to have the whole world behind us, like in Afghanistan, but it is not realistic. Grow up, gain some perspective. We could always stay home and wait to be attacked AGAIN!

And comparing ANY American President to Hitler is true ignorance! I have lived in Europe, seen the ruins of the holocaust with my own eyes. NOTHING in history compares.

We need to vote the Corrupted, bribe-taking republicans out of office in novemeber and then start a real investigation of Katrina, 9-11, and Iraq Weapons of Mass Destruction. Then maybe we'd get some credibility back.

Hey, its not easy to be a President, why is everybody there to critize all Presidents... a lot of people dont see the good things that Presidents do (in most nations), they only see mistakes... thats why no matter who is the Presidents... a lot of people will always focus on the mistakes.

Time heals all wounds and this wound will take atleast twice as many administations to reconcile all the damage the Bushes have caused.

Right, because Clinton wasn't a blight on the American image. Hey, our president cheats on his wife with cigars! And we've got a really good book on it -- in fact, two! One from both parties!

Blaming our national image on one man is ludicrous.

VOTE DEMOCRATIC!!! Write to your Senators and Reps ... make your opinion known. Talk to others abroad and show them that the Bush era was an incredible short-coming for the US.

Well, the least you can do is judge him once he's out of office, and if he's found guilty, then send him to jail.
