Which would you prefer to live in and why?

Since I travel a lot for work, a condo works well for me. Someone will take care of the grounds. Some condos have 24 hour maintenance which is important if you're not mechanically inclined.

Houses would require too much maintenance. You'd have to take care of landscaping and snow plowing.

With houses and condos, you earn equity. They are investments. Apartments aren't.

A condo would be nice if I could afford it but I would have to say an apartment for now, only b/c I fear living in a house alone.

A condo on the other hand is like a large apartment, to me.

Apartments are o/k for younger life, I rented for years throughout college and before my kids we born. But nothing compares to having a home that no one else’s touches or lives in but you. It's your castle.

Get one and enjoy the feeling of home ownership. You just can't beat it. Especially when you upgrade things within it and truly enjoy the fruits of your labors.

House, I like the privacy.

Home, its the best investment.
