To all of my friends here at YA's...?

I want to let everyone know that my daughter was involved in a horrible car accident today. She was 1 cm. away from having a broken neck. She is home with me now, in lots of pain, so I just wanted you guys to keep us in your thoughts. My car is totalled, however, it will be replaced. My insurance will cover it. If I'm not on much today or tomorrow, you'll all know why! Thanks for being so wonderful!

Update:

Thank you all for your kindness! There are people here that I've never even seen before! We really appreciate your thoughtfullness!

Update 2:

Update..My daughter and I both were taken back to the ER last night. She possibly has a broken clavical. I, on the other hand, was treated for a terrible panick attack and migraine. We're both home now, and thanks to the vicodin, I could probably sleep for a couple of days. She is pretty sore today, but is doing her best to move around so she doesn't get really stiff. She has a pretty bad phobia of cars right now. She also is having problems with double vision. I'm keeping an eye on her, which is quite exhausting. Thanks for all of your support! D

Update 3:

Well, things are looking brighter. No broken bones! My daughter is feeling better too. She has been trying to do things around the house so she can work some of the pain out of her body. As for the car, my insurance company said it is totalled, so they are going to send me a check to replace it, and they are taking care of all my daughters medical bills.

Update 4:

Today, my daughter was able to get out and walk around with her cousin. She's still quite sore, but I think the exercise was good for her. It's 10:50pm EST, and she has already gone to bed. Hopefully, she'll be able to go back to school (college) on Monday. As for me, well, my nerves are still very much on edge, but I'm coping the best I can. I think once the insurance company gets the tow truck to come and pick up my car (which is parked on the street in front of my house), I'll feel better. It's hard looking at a constant reminder of how close we came to losing my girl!!

Update 5:

Since this wasn't actually a question, I don't think it would be fair for me to "pick the best answer"...I wish I could give everyone points for your concern, but I'm not going to do any of that...I'm just going to leave it alone and let it fall out on it's own. Thank you all again, for your support! Bless you all!

Update 6:

Feb 12

My daughter is recovering very well! She went to church today, and she isn't wearing her neck brace anymore. She's still sore, but is moving around very well. Thanks again for your concern!!!

Life's a tough thing. It takes only a few seconds for disaster to cave in all around you, but to dig your way out takes what seems like an eternity. Anyways, I'm glad to hear that the worst is over, and that both of you are getting well. Please continue these updates on the comments as your situation develops; I want to stay in the know on this.

Look's like you've gotten yourselves out of a tough bind! I'm glad to hear that things are looking up after a grueling ordeal. When someone that you love is hurt, it's tough on the mind, body, and heart, and it gets even worse if you happen to feel it, too. You and your daughter have shown great courage and strength throughout this, and I'm glad that all of us here have been able to help you out in your time of need in one way or another. Try not to overexert yourselves if you're not feeling as well as you were prior to this accident, and I hope that what remains of the road to recovery comes with plenty of shortcuts! ^_^

I, as well, will keep you & your family in my thoughts & prayers. I've mentioned on here before that I've almost died three times...what I HAVEN'T said is that two of those times were car wrecks. one by an alcohol-impaired driver. I know what both you & your daughter are going through...and I pray for a speedy recovery for you both! If I can help in any way, even just a cyber-shoulder to lean on, please let me know: earlthek@yahoo.com
