How frequently do RyanAir and EasyJet have cheap seat sales?

I travel to Europe quite a bit and while I don't fly around much in Europe, I have flown these carriers a few times. I think they always have cheap seat sales (at least every time I check them out they have something going on) of one sort or another going on, but I have found to get the lowest fares, you really have to book in advance and be willing to go at odd times or days. Some general tips I think would apply:

Tuesday and Wednesday will be cheaper

Look for fare sales around regular time table updates (usually in Oct/Nov and then Jan/Feb and then also again in Apr/May - sort of as the travel seasons change)

I think you will also tend to see promotional fares in response to competition - so when someone else goes into a new airport or offers new service, the other guys will have some deals Happy flying!
